Appy vs. Hurley

im wit the rest of em, if you cant beat em running and shooting, hold the ball.
i hate watching it, but it works, and it kept SP in a game that they were really overmatched.

So AHS vs. CHS for the region?

I was hoping RC would stall against Ervinton Thursday night. Ervinton ran a 1-2-2 zone both games I saw and I didn't think RC could shoot them out of it.

It was a smart move by Damron to employ, and it was smart by Rasnick to not force the issue. You dont want to force giving up drives to the hoop and committing bad fouls when its not necessary. If you are behind, then sure you have to push them out of ball control, but not unless you are behind. I remember RC beating Appy and Coeburn one year that they were overmatched playing a 4 corners offense because Appy and Coeburn both forced the issues. RC had one quick guard who started gashing them, drawing fouls or dishing off for easy baskets. I think RC shot 30+ free throws each game because of it.

Looks that way. I always pull for the LPD team, but I've been thinking since about mid season that Castlewood was the team to beat. They seem to be real well balanced. Even though they don't have anyone over about 6'4" I bet the average height of their top 7 or 8 is more than any other team in the region? No one under 6'2" is there?

Smart or not it didn't work. It appears all of u are saying those kids should be proud because they didn't get beat as bad as the other 3 times. I'm sure their ecstatic about that this morning.

It obviously worked when it was used, don't know where you're getting that. Again, I don't really care how they feel this morning...maybe they should have delivered when it was time to run the offense.

This time of year its about strategy and nothing else, sounds like it worked and they had a chance in the game thats all you can ask for, admitt it or not.

How was Hurley, did they have a lot of size? I heard they had a pretty young team.

Yeah I would say their average height might be more than anyone in the region. Bush is 6'2, Rasnick is 6'3, Smith 6'2 or 3, Justice 6'2, Puckett 6'2, Fields is probably 6'0, Allen is 6'2 or 3, Kennedy is 6'4, then you have Collins who is the other key contributor on the team and he is only 5'10.
